Royal Sussex County Hospital
As the preferred AV integrator for the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust, we delivered fully integrated solutions for 23 meeting rooms and over 50 staff breakout areas at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
The highlight of this project involved designing and implementing a flexible conference room that could be partitioned into multiple spaces, with the AV technology automatically recognising the reconfiguration.
The space consists of three large hybrid meeting rooms, which are divisible by way of two bi-folding doors. Each individual room has a standalone MTR system consisting of either 1 or 2 86” Samsung screens, Yealink MCore II, AV Hub, 1 or 2 MSpeaker II’s, Multiple UVC86 camera’s, VCM38’s & MTouch II panels.
When the rooms are separated by the partition wall, each space has been programmed to use its individual peripheral set-up to act as a standard hybrid meeting room. The touch panel powers the system on and allows users to start meetings, control camera’s, etc. For this particular project, the client opted to use Yealink’s wireless WPP20 dongles, for BYOD input.
The open room system uses a slightly different range of peripherals to enable better coverage throughout the space. When the open layout is activated, the two end rooms Yealink peripherals are de-activated, instead utilising the 2 x UVC86’s from the central room.
The audio side of the system comprises of 2 x Shure MXA920’s & a single MXA710 for voice reinforcement, 3 x Ecler CA120HZ amplifiers & Ecler IC6 speakers for audio playback. The video switching is done via a Kramer VM-218DT, sending the signals over HDBT to Kramer TP-580R receivers, with screen inputs being switched to replicate the central image across all 5 screens.
We installed Yealink AV equipment in a further 18 meeting rooms and five teaching rooms, again with convenience and accessibility as our top priority. In this particular hospital, we’re now discussing the installation of Yealink’s room booking system and solutions for room optimisation, to ensure efficiency of use and less energy waste.
