I love Bolton. What’s not to love? Best football team in the world. Amazing pasties. Fantastic community spirit. I love it.
But as any Boltonian will know, not everyone gets to see things as optimistic as me and sometimes they need a bit of help.
It is because of this that I approached the directors at IDNS with an idea. We already do a lot in our local community through Bolton Lads and Girls Club and Fortalice, but I wanted to see if we could maybe do a bit more.
That was the shortest conversation I’ve ever had with them as they agreed immediately, and we quickly got the details sorted on our new initiative.
To make the first phase nice and simple we’re enlisting the help of schools in Bolton. Until the end of August, any order placed by a school in Bolton will see a donation going direct to Urban Outreach. 2% of the total value of the order will be given to help support families and in particular children this summer.
The money raised in this latest initiative will be used as part of the Urban Outreach ‘Bolton Lunches’ project, which is being run throughout the summer. The project helps feed over 8,600 children during the summer holidays who are eligible for free school meals.
The role played by Urban Outreach in providing free meals during summer last year was invaluable and with your help, we can have an even bigger impact this year.
“We’re very grateful to again be working with IDNS on our Bolton Lunches project for summer 2022. The money raised by them will go a long way to ensuring that no child goes hungry during the summer holidays, at the same time as providing valuable learning experiences for young people.”
Dave Bagley – Urban Outreach Founder
This is just the first initiative we’re working with Urban Outreach on, the next one promises to have an even bigger impact and help even more people in Bolton.
So, how can you help today?
Give me a shout, email, Teams or even a knock on the door and let me know what technology is needed by your school. For 34 years our understanding of a school’s needs has grown into expertise that has seen us win the AV Awards Integrator of the Year 2021-2022 and consultant for the DfE on the output spec of ICT for all new builds.
We have the skills to help and the will to make a difference. Together we can make ‘technology that matters’, really matter
